Helping children identify and label emotions is essential to learning emotional skills. Many children do not yet have the vocabulary to identify feelings, such as words like “angry” or “frustrated”, or the skills to read facial cues or interpret body language. This "How Are You Feeling?" wall element features a make-your-own-expression face, allowing children to express their emotions by adjusting the direction of their eyebrows, eyes, nose, and mouth.

They can also add tears or blush to their cheeks when they are sad or embarrassed. We are also introducing three mood meters, each with three axes representing happiness, sadness, and anger (each axis ranges from 1 to 5). Children can show adults how happy, angry, or sad they are by easily sliding the wooden pegs to the correct position. When a child is told they are at a degree "5" on the Sadness Axis, adults can ask them why they are feeling sad and offer help to the child.

Or when a child is delighted, we can encourage them to share with other children. Finally, ten circumstances or objects are printed on the panel; teachers will choose one of them and ask a child to create a corresponding facial expression, then slide the mood meters to express their feelings. This could be an exciting game as children could react differently.

For example, some children love cats, while others fear them.
